Charleroi & the Land of the Lakes
The center of Charleroi is rich in a striking architectural heritage and is surrounded by natural spaces.
But this city also has cultural institutions, theaters and museums, which earned it the nickname "new Berlin".

Typical features of this region: lots of water of course, with lakes, rivers and springs, many winding paths, steep slopes and deep forests. But also picturesque villages such as Couvin and Lompret.
Are you looking for a surprising piece of untouched nature? Then the Viroin-Hermeton nature park is a must. Here you walk through a relatively unknown nature reserve.
The limestone sources of the "Fondry des Chiens" make this region an absolute must to visit.
For historical highlights and cultural heritage you should go to the princely city of Chimay, where you can also taste one of our Belgian Trappist beers.
